We developed a pallet rack configurator for RackXpert to address a key challenge in the industry: simplifying complex product selection for customers. Our goal was to create a tool that not only enhances the customer's planning experience but also efficiently generates interest from potential buyers.
This Shopify configurator, tailored specifically for pallet racking, allows customers to construct their ideal system with ease. They can define crucial parameters like height, width, depth, and the number of levels, as well as specifying the maximum load capacity per pallet. The app also allows them to select various accessories for each level, ensuring every detail of their rack is accounted for. As customers build their rack, the configurator provides real-time updates on total dimensions, load capacities, and the current price.
Once a design is finalized, customers can create a detailed PDF quote. This document includes a comprehensive overview of all selected parts, individual pricing, the total cost, and a clear visual of their configured rack. A copy of this PDF is automatically emailed to RackXpert, along with any appointment dates the customer chose for a follow-up. This feature is invaluable for generating qualified leads from customers who have already invested time in designing their solution.
Technology
The configurator is embedded as a theme extension in the Shopify theme of our customer RackXpert and can be flexibly moved inside page templates as a block. The frontend & backend app is developed with Next.js, responsible for rendering the configurator and for creating and sending the PDF quotes.
